Oh heck, the sky's the limit.

Start by thinking about healthcare in general and since this is a business course, think in terms of "your" business.

What ARE some of the problems facing in the business of healthcare today? You see them in the news .. you don't have to be in the thick of it to be aware - how about shrinking market share? Inability to attract/retain staff? Loss of payor dollars, increased likelihood being sued by a dissatisfied customer. Paying for more technology with a smaller ROI ...

Regardless of our need (ok, my need) to see ourselves as selfless, Radiology today is markedly different than it was back 'in the day'. It's a business class.... use a business model.

Good luck

Hello.

I am completing my pre-reqs and general courses and will be applying to the rad program this spring. I am currently taking a required business communication class that recommends students be at least 2 quarters into their specialty to take it, but I've been told the chances of getting into the rad program without all of the generals completed are slim to none.

A main portion of my grade for this class is to write a formal problem-solving "long report" about the field of radiography. I have to research a problem, describe it in detail, and give my conclusions and recommendations to remedy the problem. I am really at a disadvantage since I am not in the field yet. I've looked online and haven't really found anything. I've been trying to schedule observation hours and hope to ask radiographers for their opinions, but haven't been able to get any of the facilities to return my calls. Sad

So, I am appealing to you kind folks for opinions. For those who are experienced in the field, what do you feel are problems that need remedied?

Thank you for any and all replies.

To be considered for what?

To be considered to enter an educational program for meidcal coding? To get a job as a medical coder?

Your best bet is to go where there is accurate information. One place to start is here:

You might be a Rad Tech if: You view the next family reunion as a chance to meet girls.

You might be a Rad Tech if: You own a home that is mobile and 5 cars that aren't.
